bartell drugsBartell Drugs
For well over a century Bartell Drugs has focused on the future and how it can better serve its customers. As it celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, the company continues the tradition of looking ahead while celebrating its colorful past and history of innovation.

The year-long celebration is only one initiative for the nation's oldest drugstore chain during this milestone year. Bartell's continues to build on its solid foundation by expanding its presence in the Puget Sound area with new store openings, store expansions and remodels, and an array of enhanced services.

The 59-store chain opened two new stores last year, including a Bellevue location on NE 8th (July opening) and another in Factoria just east of I-405 (September). The company also completed a major expansion and remodel of its busy 5th & Olive store in downtown Seattle (June completion) and has begun renovations at its Fairwood location in Renton, due for completion in 2011. All the activity reflects the company's long range confidence in the region's economic prospects.

"With stores in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties, we have continued to grow steadily by adding new stores and modernizing existing ones to better serve each community," said George D. Bartell, Chairman and CEO. "Bricks-and-mortar" expansion and current store enhancements just scratch the surface of company initiatives. Bartell's is aggressively building on a program begun several years ago to introduce more natural, organic and locally-produced products. These include probiotic products, new supplements, cosmetics, hair coloring, cough and cold remedies and other categories.

Recognizing that the baby boomer generation is redefining how we age, Bartell's is actively developing and expanding home health care offerings including home diagnostics, diabetic care, fitness and exercise aids.

While the chain seeks to provide the products customers want including those from local and Northwest companies, Bartell's offers its own Premier Value brand, as well as top national health, beauty and convenience food items.

Since the early days of photo film processing, Bartell's has been recognized as a national leader in providing a wide range of photo finishing services. Bartell's PixPlusTM photo, sound and cellular departments provide customers with a wide range of employee-assisted and self-service features, including digital photofinishing and enhancements (including online options). PixPlusTM product displays make it easy for customers to select a variety of services, including on-site kiosks for Kodak Photo Books and Picture Movie DVDs.

Bayside Distributing
Bayside sells approximately 2 million cases to roughly 740 accounts a year.bayside  We currently have 67 accounts that are using Fintech.  We just started with the Private Label program and are getting a very good response so far from our accounts.  They love how it looks, feels and works like Fintech, but there is no cost at the retailers end. I feel with the Private Label program we should be able to get roughly 100-150 accounts signed up for it by the end of the 1st quarter.  This program is perfect for the small independent owners who only have 1 store!
