Regulated Commerce
Getting invoice information and paying distributors for beer, wine and spirits is now easier and more secure than ever! Fintech offers benefits to both retailers and vendors and is quickly becoming the most accepted method of invoice data entry, payment and reconciliation.
Fintech solves the operational problems retailers face in paying distributors on delivery. The need for writing money orders, checks, or maintaining cash for payments is eliminated, creating greater security.
Because drivers do not need to wait for payment, they reduce their time in the store and the time their trucks are in the retailer's parking lot.
Store managers enter summary invoice information into their information systems. Full invoice detail, by item, is provided electronically for reconciliation at the corporate office. Data entry errors dramatically decline.
Accounting's work is further reduced, as money orders and checks previously written at the store no longer need to be reconciled. Additionally, any prepaid or escrow accounts are also eliminated.
Process Description
The benefits experienced with Fintech create a win/win scenario for both retailers and vendors. When a retailer accepts a delivery and signs the invoice, it becomes the EFT irrevocable commitment to pay.
At the end of the distributor's day, the information is uploaded into their system, where the invoice data is extracted and sent to Fintech. Fintech formats the information to the Federal Reserve's requirements and forwards it on.
The Federal Reserve then simultaneously transfers the appropriate funds between the retailer and distributor's accounts. The remittance information, including the invoice detail, is electronically sent to the retailer within 24 hours. Retailers can then electronically reconcile their account and manage any exceptions.

"As for our decision to join Fintech, it's quite simple - ease of doing business. In Vermont, all liquor deliveries are COD, and the driver must leave with payment. Fintech allows us to approve the invoice and have the driver back on the road in minutes, saving the time of drawing up a check and keeping the paper use to a minimum which aligns with our 'green initiative' here at Stowe Mountain..." Stowe Mountain Lodge
"We were looking for a way to make our operations more efficient and less cumbersome. When we found Fintech we took control of our time again so that we could give our guests that fun experience that they came in to have." Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery
"The Fintech program has really been helpful for our company. It has worked as advertised, it is simple to use and has eliminated the need for beer drafts in most of our stores. I wish ALL the beer vendors would get on board with this program." KenJo Inc.
"We are very pleased with the quality of service Fintech provides. We sincerely appreciate the responsiveness and the way Fintech conducts business. We have recommended the Fintech program to all of our customers and other distributors because of our satisfaction with the service we receive. We look forward to doing business with the Fintech organization for years to come." Andrews Distributing
"The transition of the payment method for our beer and wine purchases to the Fintech method was a seamless process for our retail operations. The best benefit however, was the amount we have eliminated from our balance sheet in the form of escrow amounts we had to maintain for each vendor. Our cost of capital decreased by nearly $90K on an annual basis as a result of converting to the Fintech..." Whole Foods
